This hostel was the only affordable option around that I can find. Its view was amazing, also the rooms and beds were so clean. However, check-in hours are between 3PM and 8PM. If you’re later than 10 PM, you pay extra fee. Shuttle service from Flam is a great service but the ride of 10 minutes cost 30 Euro. Norway is expensive but it’s over the average, I think. Lastly, the location is 8 km away from Flam where the train station and cruise tours are located. You must use shuttles of Norway’s Best between the towns which cost 125 NOK (10 min). Since public buses are not regularly working, you must catch the shuttles since it’s once in one or two hours.

Good location for Aurland and Flam visits. Overall, it is very clean and convenient.

The hostel is in a lovely location, offering beautiful mountain views, and it's only about a 15-minute walk to the city centre. We stayed in a twin room—though not large, it was private and perfect for a one-night stay. The kitchen, living room, and dining room are spacious. The only downside was that I couldn't find staff at reception to borrow a hairdryer—I checked at 9 AM and again at 10 AM.

This might be the best Hostel that I have stayed at. There are privacy curtains for each bed (I stay in the 8 person room) giving privacy, a great kitchen with plenty of space for dining, heated floors for the bathroom, and a beautiful view. I wished I would have stayed longer! It is a trip from Flam, but there are regular busses, a shuttle service, and the possibility for a rentable e-bike (all were taken during my stay). However, this also means that you are much more isolated and relaxed than in Flam. If your plan is to stay in Aurland, I can't think of another place I would want to stay!!
