As an experienced traveller having visited over 48 countries - Indonesia is one of my latest and favourite countries to travel around! With Jakarta now the world's largest city with 42 million inhabitants, it's great to get into the "real country" and experience Indonesia (particularly Java) away from all the tourists and the historical town of Banyumas, with only 50,000 population, is a great location to use as a base for this part of Java. The Mruyung Guest House in the heart of Banyumas (with only 9 rooms) provides a peaceful "oasis of tranquility" complete with all the facilities including air conditioned rooms, a SMART TV and good sized, comfortable double/twin bedded rooms with en suite facilities. As part of the Mruyung "complex" the adjoining cafe/bakery provides plenty of areas to relax in comfort in the lounge area behind reception and enjoy a quiet "coffee & cake". In addition, all the photos shown on the website are realistic and do ACTUALLY look like this in reality! 😂 There is an extensive choice of food available from the restaurant which can also be delivered to your room - excellent value for money! 👍 @ Located just 5 minutes walk from the central shopping area and nearby "Alun Alun", Banyumas is a great location to "wind down" after a days sightseeing! Sleepy Banyumas is only 30 minutes taxi ride to either Kroya or Purwokerto where trains depart to destinations across Java. The staff at the Mruyung Guest House are all extremely helpful with the Manageress able to speak in excellent English! The Mruyung Guest House" is in my "top 10" places to stay in the 48 countries I've visited and certainly beats some of the larger hotels in Jakarta, Bandung & Yogyakarta - definitely worth the title - "A little gem in Banyumas, Indonesia".
