I don’t think this is a resort. Rooms look more like motel rooms. Breakfast is poor - the worst breakfast I’ve ever had at a resort. The staff’s English is not good. And they are not helpful, at all.

Our entire stay was pleasant, mainly thanks to the hotel’s great location and the friendliness of the staff. However, the facilities are quite dated, especially in the main building (we strongly recommend avoiding rooms there, as they are in very poor condition). The bungalows are acceptable, but overall everything feels a bit worn and tired, which is disappointing given the huge potential of the property. garden is nice and well kept. Daily housekeeping was fine and we had no complaints about the cleanliness of the room. Breakfast offered a satisfactory selection, although the quality itself was not particularly impressive. With a bit more care and some investment, this could be a very good hotel — there is so much more that could be made of it. It is truly a shame that the property feels neglected. On a positive note, the beach is beautiful and the pool area is well maintained; these areas clearly receive proper attention.

Great stay with fantastic amenities, though some rooms need updating Overall, we had a great 3-night stay at Scarlet Sails Resort and would definitely return. The Good: * Location & Pool: Fantastic beachfront location with a large, beautiful pool right on the beach. * Service & Staff: Staff were consistently helpful and friendly throughout our stay. * Amenities: Great bar facilities and convenient on-site bike rentals ($12.50 for a day / $15 for 24 hours). They also offer on-site massages (though we didn't get a chance to try one). Things to Keep in Mind: * Rooms & Construction: The bungalow rooms are quite tired and in need of refreshment. During our visit (August 2026), there was large-scale construction ongoing, though it looks like they are actively gutting/updating rooms and adding new structures ahead of peak season, which should be a big upgrade once finished. * Air Conditioning (Room ***): The AC in our room was very noisy—the compressor whirred loudly all night (we had to play white noise to drown it out) and barely cooled the room down. Front desk mentioned it was working as expected, but we noticed ACs in other rooms weren't having this issue. Despite the minor AC hiccup and construction noise, the location, pool, and staff made for a wonderful trip. I’d stay here again—I'd just recommend asking ahead about the status of any ongoing construction!

Staff is friendly and helpful, value for the money you pay, has a beautiful beach front, next door to mad monkey hostel you do hear a bit of the music from there and while it’s been renovated recently it’s still basic. The rooms had been cleaned but definitely has a stray lizard or two as it is on an island so be aware of that.
