Allowed to check in early after spending 36hrs on a train journey and another hotel denying we had made a booking. Very much appreciated. Staff friendly, attentive and helpful. Fan, air con, WiFi all good. Lovely shower. Beds very comfortable and long. Other guests were very quiet which is always appreciated on the very odd occasion it happens. Nice pair of slippers provided and complimentary water was a nice touch, as was the kettle in the room. Arrived in the room to lots, and I mean lots, of mosquitos as this is a problem in general for Daltonganj. Hotel gave us an additional goodnight plug in device. My wife killed 30-40 mosquitos during our two day stay but there was still the odd one remaining when we left. I know people like fresh air but you are, and so will the next guests, have major mosquito problems if you open the windows. You also need to make sure the windows are fully shut which involves closing both sliding windows at the same time. Land down the right hand side of the hotel is the local rubbish tip and urinal. Not aware that it caused us a problem as windows were closed within minutes of us arriving. Might be fun to bring a pair of binoculars though. There were quite a few momentary power cuts during our stay. Mosque very close by and so a loud call to prayer could be heard at 05:15 on both the mornings we were there. Paid just over INR1800 per night on a discounted offer on Agoda. I will always think this is a lot for India but probably was a better option than other hotels in Daltonganj that weren’t great. Would I return? Probably if I could get a deal but at full price, no.
