Hotel Mama Lova Essaouira

Me and my mum stayed here in the apartment on the first floor. On arrival, Karima was warm and friendly, our room was spotless and very welcoming. Unfortunately on our first day my mum had an accident and broke her nose and ankle. Karima and the team couldn't do enough to help us. They brought our breakfast up to our room for the first couple of days, offered help and assistance wherever and whenever we needed it, they even sourced a wheelchair so I could still get my mum out to see the sights of Essaouira. We were only due to stay for two nights and then travel on but due to the accident, after speaking with the owner, Karima approached me and said she'd extended our stay and arranged a private transfer to the airport for us when it's time to leave - literally nothing was too much for them here at mama lova. Location of mama lova is perfect, it's just a few steps away from a main street that leads you to souks, coffee shops, restaurants, the beach and a big square. It's so safe around here, and I can vouch for that because all of a sudden, I had to do a lot of lone exploring, it was an easy hotel to always navigate back to. We eat at the hotel every night due to my mums accident and every night we enjoyed a different meal that was cooked so so well. Latifah puts her heart into her food when preparing. Food is brought fresh from the market every day. If you are staying here, or popping in for an evening meal then you must try the seafood Pastilla.. I've travelled extensively and tried many meals from different countries but this is by far the best I've had, ever! If seafood is your thing, then the chicken is very good - to be honest you wont get a bad meal here because it's cooked fresh on that day with local ingredients. Mama lova is more expensive than other hotels in the area but believe me, as soon as you walk in you will understand why. The hotel is finished off to such a high standard - you can see that everything has been thought out and precisely placed or designed. The staff there are, in my opinion, the best. Nothing is too much for them, and we came away feeling rested and reassured after a traumatic disaster whilst away. I really can't recommend this hotel. Their standard of service is perfection, and kindness runs through this building. At Mama lova, heart really is at the core of what they do. To go above and beyond is normality for them.

We stayed here for 2 nights in November 2023 with our two small children (5 and 2). The staff (Halim especially) went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable and had a room that could fit all of us. The rooms are small though and the stairs in the suite are quite steep (two beds are upstairs and one is on the lower level), which is something to consider if you have small children.
