The building is nice enough and located conveniently but the rooms are not sound insulated. You can hear everything from all other guests and the front door keypad echoes through the entire building every time someone uses it. You can hear the road traffic and the trains going by (the road traffic is more annoying than the train). We could literally hear people sneezing from the rooms downstairs. The other guests at the Bnb were loud late into the night. The room is quite bright at night, both from the LED on the AC unit and from the lights outside. The shower is nice and has good water pressure. We were only there for one night but had a terrible night's sleep. One day before this we were in Jiufen and we paid much less for a room. This place is expensive and not worth the cost.

1 of the place I enjoyed very much in Taiwan. The place location is very convenient. Owner also placed a lot of information for us to discover. The place is quiet and nice for us.

With limited hotel options in Pingxi this is clean, convenient and located close to the Crags.

Pingxi always feels like it’s quietly folding itself back into the mountains by dusk—like a town that knows when to stop performing. The care and intimacy of a place that wants to feel like home, paired with those small, slightly jarring omissions that remind you you’re still passing through. The lantern-covered lampshades, the stream outside the window—those are deliberate gestures, almost poetic. And then the curtain instead of a bathroom door… a gentle test of how much privacy one really needs when surrounded by so much stillness. No luxuries such as bidet or matching towels. A sunken sofa. No welcoming drink, only the cleanliness of bare essentials and air conditioning that works. That’s very Pingxi though - unpolished in places, but sincere. It trades convenience for atmosphere. By 7pm, when the shops close and the last sky lanterns drift away, what you’re left with isn’t entertainment... its reflection. The sound of the stream becomes louder, the room feels softer, and the details (both charming and inconvenient) become part of the experience rather than distractions. If anything, Pingxi doesn’t try to impress you—it just quietly asks you to notice it.
