The Grand Hotel Victory has a lot going for it, especially the pool and spa on the top floor, having a shopping center within the same building, and being within walking distance of the Caspian seaside. There are some downsides, though. The buffet breakfast is not very varied, and many of the items are overcooked. The top floor restaurant has a great view, but there were many children running around and screaming, which spoiled the effect. The Lobby coffee shop is open 24/7, which is great – but, it gets everything from the top floor restaurant: be prepared to wait for any food or drink you order. All rooms I’ve stayed in (three times in September) have a slight odor. The hotel is closer to my usual business destinations in Aktau, so it’s more convenient for me. But, with the tasteless breakfasts, the room odors, the screaming kids, and the generally higher room price, this hotel is not my top choice for future visits to Aktau.

Stayed here three times in September. Overpriced for what you get; many issues with the breakfast food served and other guests (and their misbehaving kids). Not a good choice for business travelers.

I was very pleased with both times I stayed at this hotel this month. While it's clear the hotel is a bit older, the rooms are comfy and the furnishings are all fine. Most of the staff are very pleasant and helpful. There's no breakfast buffet - you choose from 9 set plates. But, these were quite sufficient: the ones I tried were very tasty and filling. (Sad about not getting a coffee refill... but that may be the choice of the woman in the cafe.) With its very central location, the hotel is great for anyone with business downtown. I plan to make it my "go to" choice for future visits to Aktau.

My brother and I stayed for three nights. the room was huge and very clean. Breakfast was free and very good. the restaurant on 8th floor, clean, service great and staff working there are all friendly and kind. even the staff on second floor who serve the breakfast have same wonderful quality. They clean the rooms every day and take care of all the requirements. The employees in reception can speak English. they are all very friendly and wonderful and help without any expectations. i give this HOTEL 100 out of 100.
