Had a good 2 night stay here shortly after Songkran with my 2 and 4 year old son together with my wife and other members of the family. We had 3 Garden View rooms and 1 Garden Villa. Although a bit older, I think everything is there to have a relaxing holiday. The staff were really great and helpful and gave us advise what we could do on the island with small kids. Having a pier, we thought we could rent a speed boat and go to another beach or squid fishing, but that was not the case. Please bear in mind that Ao Phrao is the last beach on the island and is therefore very far by pick up truck to reach. At the same time you will not be bothered by anybody. I think this place is good for spending time on the beach playing with the kids and just relaxing.

Stunning location. Some areas of the resort need renovation and an upgrade. We changed room to a bungalow which was traditional style and lovely. Nam , the lovely lady at reception was exceptional in facilitating us and helped with arranging tours, taxis and just about everything..Would definitely stay there again thanks to Nam!

Ao Phrao Beach Resort. I would recommend it as it has a lot going for it not the least is that it was quite affordable. It didn't fall into the usual very cheap but still very nice Thailand accommodations category, but considering it was right on a stunning beach and with all the amenities it had, I think it's good value. It has been fairly well kept up but they are a few things here and there that show it's a mid or budget level resort. The rooms are simple, the washroom in the room our room was a bit run down, etc. The resort in general feels a bit tired. (sorry, I know this won't translate well into other languages), so while it was great for my partner and I, who are not into fancy or expensive things, those used to more upscale accommodations might be a bit disappointed here. The staff are mostly friendly, pretty chilled, helpful when asked, doing what needs to be done but just that. When we stayed, mid to late April, it was about a 90/10 split of Thais/Foreigners. I suspect this might be all year round as few of the staff speak English, but importantly the lady at the main desk does. Amenities such as sun loungers & beanbags, parasols, free buffet style breakfast, restaurant for lunch and dinner with beachside service, front desk area that sells beer, snacks, the usual necessitates & can arrange ferry and bus transport, cafe with espresso machine and desserts, free snorkeling gear, kayaks for rent, scooter rental (300 Baht per day), beach bar, etc. Basic garden view rooms like ours have A/C, small fridge, TV, showers with available hot water, clothes drying rack, etc. and the grounds are expansive and very pretty. Regarding the beach, it really is beautiful - crystal clear water, soft white sand, small, gentle waves, many shady areas, buuuuut... there is some garbage, mostly plastic, littering some parts of Ao Phrao Beach, and a leisurely stroll down the beach, especially when walking Northwest towards the "village" where there are a few other resorts and a mini market, is a bit depressing. We took to walking the beach with a garbage bag and scooped up what we could.

Ideal choice if you are looking for a quiet beach hotel. Long walking beach with crystal clear water. Keep in mind there is no pool
