Nice looking hotel in residential area. We drove to the town centre. Feedback on a couple of processes that caused us some grief. 1. Free Wifi - staff told us to just log on without giving us the code. Which basically is forcing us to sign up for Hilton Honours. After unsuccessful attempts, our friends basically had to troop downstairs to resolve this and lo and behold there was actually a standard code that they could have given to us upfront. 2. Pre authorisations - unexpected since payment was to be made at the hotel. Instead, my bank alerted me to charges made the day before for the full amount for the 3 rooms. Additionally, our friends were charged a pre authorisation of more than £50 above the room rate. None of the hotels I booked under Booking.com did so even for the ones in the Hilton chain. Upon check out, there were duplicate charges, despite a receipt showing only 1 charge. Basically they pre-authorised everything plus duplicates. While they reassured me that they would reverse all the unnecessary pre authorisations , it was nevertheless a very unpleasant experience. Dinner, at the hotel restaurant however, was good .

Nice upgraded room spacious with kitchen, quiet and good light block Good Value through Agoda No bin in loo made things awkward TV difficult to start À la carte breakfast v poor; the chef picks it off the buffet! Tinned mushrooms yuck and the only items freshly made are the eggs. Tea machine not boiling in a teapot.

Hotel as always was excellent. Reception staff are always incredibly friendly and helpful, facilities are excellent, underground parking very useful. A few niggles, the sofa bed wasn't made on arrival, at breakfast it was suggested we use a table for two, there were three of us, or eat separately (it got sorted quickly) and the tissues in our room weren't replaced when used. All minor stuff and otherwise up to regular high standards.

I was a guest over the Xmas season. Ambience was lovely, pleasant staff and good facilities. However I had to make several calls to request confirmation of my booking for Xmas dinner.

We spent the weekend at the start of March and had a brilliant time. Staff were lovely and accommodating, breakfast was great and the spa was perfect for a city hotel. Would highly recommend.
