Stayed for 7 nights in Apr-25. Great location overlooking the beach and seafront. Hotel is a little dated but fine for a 3 star. Has its own bar and restaurant and terrace for warmer days. Fine for short stays but watch out for functions at the w/e which can be loud! Fire alarm went off two consecutive mornings which needs to be addressed.

I had a lovely stay overall. The hotel is beautiful, my room was spotless, and although it was very warm when I arrived, it had been an exceptionally hot day. The staff in the bar and the receptionist when I checked out were both excellent. I was kindly allowed to leave my car in the car park until 6pm, and I really enjoyed relaxing on the veranda with a coffee and later a gin, taking in the peaceful surroundings without ever feeling rushed. The only areas that could be improved were the check-in and breakfast experience. I arrived after 6pm and had to check in via the bar. While the barman was lovely, the receptionist wasn't particularly welcoming or informative about where my room was, and no offer was made to help with my suitcase. At breakfast, I arrived just after 10.10am (with breakfast served until 10.30am), but the cereals had already been cleared away. As I have a severe egg allergy, I explained I was struggling to find something suitable, but no alternatives were suggested. My smoked salmon on sourdough arrived with just salmon, rather than offering something like tomatoes instead of the scrambled egg. The loud music coming from the kitchen also took away from what should have been a relaxing breakfast. Despite these small issues, I had a very enjoyable stay, and the hotel itself is lovely. With a little more consistency in customer service, it would be excellent.

Lovely hotel very friendly and attentive staff. I had a Sunday roast in the restaurant which was great. Receptionist gave me a free upgrade on my room with a sea view. Only negative I can say was that I didn't find the bed overly comfortable, was too hot. But other than that a fantastic stay.

Lovely looking hotel with a nice restaurant. Just a shame about the rest. To start i was told i could check in early. When arrived was rudely told check in was at 3pm. Time was 2:25pm. When finally get to the room the impression was nice. Then i go to open the window to find only 1 of the 4 opening windows will open. ( other 3 broken and handles damaged ) window tries to open but half the catches are broken so only 1 side of the window releases. After having to hunt for the tea and coffee i find it un the wardrobe of all places. Go to make a coffee and have to wait about 5min for the kettle to even start working. And to my shock there was only 1 coffee packet in the jar. On my way out i asked at the main desk for more coffee to get told they dont give out more and there should be some in my room. Id not be asking for more if there was enough in my room. Then when we finally return to the hotel for the night. We climb into bed and both ended up in the middle lol. Mattress was like a V shape. Shame really as they are comfy beds but im assuming the base wasnt level as it was definitely pushed together. And so finally after a rough nights sleep and the noise of heavy foot steps in the hallway and door slamming at 2:15am. We then come to the morning and we was faced with a broken hair dryer that did work but fell apart while using and was missing a bit off the end so the Mrs wasnt to happy about having to go out with her hair tied up.

We arrived early with a very welcome reception. Allowing us to park in the car park early. Enabling us to have a wander around town and along the sea front. On returning we was allowed to check in early. It’s a beautiful old hotel. Over looking the sea. It restaurants and staff were amazing. There’s an outside area which in the warmer weather must be lovely to sit outside in the sunshine. Our room was nice and clean and very presentable. Food was top notch. Can see us returning.
