The Straits Hotel suites is no more the hotel but building is Asia Melaka. Unit is now individually owner managed by Perfect Host management company. Arrival need to whatsapp or call the contact number. The Host staff will then give instruction by WhatsApp photo and video to show where to collect access key from letter box and password to room door digital lock to enter room. So has to know is like Air BnB check in style. But thanks to Asia Melaka hotel lobby staff who patiently explain the contacting to us. Frankly when I booked it was not clear about this as I keep think is The Strait SUITES HOTEL that I stayed before. But for the price is ok. Same type of hotel room.

Airbnb in a hotel, cleaning and management considered self managed by a host that is separate from the hotel management, so check in cannot be done through the receptionist, rather you have to whatsapp the number to get the details (note that the host didn't msg me prior to my check in date). Room was decent, but got wear and tear (eg. Water mark leaking at the ac location, bidet leaks when switched on, some wall tear off from moisture). Cleanliness not desired, there are dust and hair in the cupboard hahahahaha so we never open it since. When we first got into the room, the ac dust filter is out and not put back in, no issue because it shows they clean yay. The staff came to clean (wipe table, sweep and mop immediately), appreciate that. Then we wipe off all surfaces ourself with wet wipes and continued on with the stay. View are nice, location pretty strategic, near to many eating places and <RM10 grab to jonker street. Cleanliness is the only bug but bearable for me.

Everything in this suite is fine, except cannot lock balcony glass door, which feel not save for adult and children. Broken balcony outer glass may be another danger, if you need to have relax and nice view there. Additional, very dangerous for children playing around. When I check-in, toilet paper roll inside toilet was left few pieces, and I notice additional roll is chargeable s stated in notice on wall. Even I can see another new toilet roll, I not sure need to pay for it ! Owner should clearly notice that is free of charge, or not.

The kitchen stove is not functioning . Quite inconvenient if I check in late as I need to call before check in instead of sending the checking procedure upon booking confirm. Asking for deposit through on line and take time to refund the deposit. The rest the room facilities are ok.

There are alot of Chinese hawkers stall and 99 speedmart around the hotel area which is super convenient to get some foods. Overall of the hotel is clean and spacious. The best part we like this hotel is the bathtub as we can enjoy it. Just the wifi line is unstable which you will prefer to use your own mobile data. Besides that, I would like to thanks to the hotel staff as they provide a good guidance on the check in and check out of the hotel. I would like to suggest if there is a water dispenser and hand soap will be better.
