Budget football-friendly place
Ignore the fact there's a security place next door so there's imposing shutters, this is a friendly budget place. Football (mostly Red) and some boxing pictures adorn the walls, whilst 24-hour staff and a kitchen (not a cooker, but microwave, toaster) as well as kettle and TV in my room. The location could be better, but good transport links into town and nearby large shopping complexes make up for it. My bed felt like it had a new mattress, everything clean, good shared shower and a great welcome info booklet other places could learn from! Stayed in places closer to town, but without the charm, accessibility, welcome and football memorabilia as Gateway.

Exceptional
My daughter & I booked a twin bedded room as we were going on a cruise to Norway the next day. The room was clean & tidy, had a dining table with 4 chairs, plus a fridge and sofa. Which was brilliant. There was even a dressing gown in the wardrobe as the shower/ toilet block was down the corridor.

A good stay
Room was spotless. Staff were knowledgeable. Room needs an update, a bit of tlc. Amenities close by and transport links into the city centre.
