Stay at this hotel often and cant promote the staff enough and this weekend was no different particularly in the bar and waiting staff. I was disappointed that the hotel did not put me on the 2nd floor as requested but realise this is not guaranteed. I was more than disappointed that when asking for two glasses of champagne to my room on the 4th floor, this was disallowed as I had not left credit card on arrival and nor was the member at reception prepared to arrange card machine payment on delivery. I do NOT do lifts and the thought of balancing 2 drinks up four flights was not an enjoyable one !!!!!!

I’ve been staying at this hotel many times visiting my elderly parents with family for over 10 years . It’s on the whole a good hotel. However in an attempt to drive profit, they now charge you £12 a night to park (just about everybody drives there ) and £15 to use the pool . As a Pilot I’ve never experienced this back door policy of extracting more cash from you. However the parking and Spa are “free” if you book direct and accept a very overpriced room. On this occasion the room prices online were significantly lower £122 vs £197 . It’s the principle that is wrong and if I can find an alternative I’ll be using it in future . The compulsory stealth extras are not advertised so the advert is misleading .

Firstly you are charged £15 a night for parking unless you book direct with hotel! The price was expensive without breakfast and use of the facilities included. Apart from 'The Springs' shopping outlet ( we are not shoppers)you need transport to wherever. However, the hotel is lovely and most of the staff helpful and friendly. Also we were on the 3rd floor, and in our room, beside the bed was a step down to another level to the seating area which we found an accident waiting to happen. We had to pull the coffee table over to timind us it was there! Breakfast was plentiful and nice.

In a nutshell, everything we asked for was accommodated apart from late dining. Far too few staff so we weren't able to get any meaningful service after 20:00 Waited 20 minutes for a drink, and gave up waiting for food. On the plus side, room was spotless,, well equipped with Tra/Coffee and biscuits. Pool and Spa looked spectacular - breakfast was excellent (coffee was a bit so-so but cooked and continental were excellent. Easy parking, close to up scale shopping centre and hotel lobby staff couldn’t have been more helpful Will definitely stay again.

A spur of the moment booking, we booked the Thorpe Park Hotel and Spa so as to be able to take advantage of the facilities they had on offer. A lovely, well maintained hotel. The spacious bedroom was great and very comfortable. Friendly and helpful staff added to a most enjoyable stay.
