I have been to this resort 5-6 times over the years and is always such a great place. If you're looking to disconnect and relax, look no further!

​If you want to escape the city hustle and truly reconnect with nature, Mutiara Resort is a fantastic choice. Unlike the highly modernized luxury hotels in northern Bintan, this resort fully embraces an eco-friendly philosophy. With its thoughtfully designed wooden cabins, lush gardens, and pristine beach, it offers a rustic charm you won't find anywhere else on the island. ​Be prepared: this authentic experience comes with a few challenges for city dwellers, such as insects, and a lack of air conditioning and hot water. However, during the rainy season, the breezy, open-air cabins are surprisingly cool at night (even a bit chilly!), making AC completely unnecessary. You also quickly adapt to the cold showers. ​The dining experience perfectly reflects their "local and natural" philosophy. While the menu isn't exhaustively international, it brilliantly blends European tastes with local specialties. You can tell the fried dishes (fish, calamari/sotong, and chicken fingers) are freshly battered by the chefs, rather than frozen industrial products. They pair perfectly with a cold Indonesian beer. A major highlight is their authentic wood-fired pizza—the combination of local ingredients and a smoky wood aroma is an absolute must-try. The daily set breakfast is also unique and delicious. ​Due to the weather, we didn't try many water sports, but simply enjoying the serene and peaceful beach was relaxing enough. I also highly recommend the "River Spa" located behind the resort; enjoying a treatment in an overwater wooden hut is a truly special experience. ​The absolute highlight of our stay, however, was the exceptional service. The resort truly lives up to its promise of providing "first-class resort service in a rustic cabin setting." Every staff member speaks excellent English and is consistently enthusiastic, attentive, and welcoming. ​Conclusion: If you strictly require modern comforts like AC, hot water, and a completely bug-free environment, this place might disappoint you. But if you resonate with their sustainable philosophy or simply want to unplug and try a genuine back-to-nature lifestyle, Mutiara Resort is an absolute must-visit.

The beach and sea is superb, but due to long time of no rain the water has foul smell, staff claimed that usually don’t smell like this, so can check the whether before going, the mosquito is so much and the sand flies, don’t stand on the beached just run to the sea then i guess it will be ok, all is good, the pizza is superb also

The hotel is really beautifully located. Our cabin was right by the sea. The highlight was the delicious food, which was much better than in the other 5-star resorts on Bintan. There was tasty wood-fired pizza and very good local dishes. The beach was cleaned daily and was nice and spacious. The staff were all very attentive and friendly. The spa is also highly recommended. The cold shower didn’t bother us. The accommodation is very airy and feels more like camping.

A quaint and rustic resort. Each rm is a hut with nice balcony where u can hv meals and a lounge chair in the backs of rm that faces a very serene river. Highly recommend this front-sea back-river facing rm. Do note that there is NO air-con but a fan is mounted to ventilate rm. It is an au naturale & this add to the charm of a laidback relaxing vibe. There are mosquitoes. Use the cream, spray & coils provided in rm. The sea in front is clean as staff turns the soil every mornng. The Massage plc is aptly named Aroma River Spa, built over a mangrove river. The Therapists are very skilled in kneading ur tension away amidst lush greenery. Good Value for $. Highly recommended. Each staff is very friendlu & accomodating . When I was there with family, the in-charge was Evi who led a very good team. . The resort can arrange for outbound kayaking & reef snorkelling, costing 500000 IDR each but totally worth the exp. A must do. Food is very delicious & prices are reasonable. Awesome B'fasts. Wifi is strong. This is really an eco friendly resort, "Back to Basics. Be in touch with nature". This is IT, a gem. (AK, 2023)
