Kaya Gantavya Resort and Spa

Beautiful resort with amazing view of Kanchenjunga right from bed. Beautiful sunrise with colour changing view of snow covered peaks. We had personal bonfire arranged in front of our cottage room. Rooms were spacious , neat and clean. Almost all the best room amenities were there - electric blanket , room heater, gyser and hair dryer in bathroom etc. Food is very delicious and lip smacking. A big shout out to the kitchen staff for serving fresh hot food. Fulka roti is also provided, we were very happy that our child hasn't struggled with food. We got complementary Sikkim special tea upon arrival along with snacks. A very warm welcome by the staff. Whole staff was very soft spoken and ensuring to make everyone comfortable.

Not recommended as they lack amenities when you at the price they charge. Food also is limited supply and you need to confirm at the start of the day, and still if they fail to get enough confirmations, they'd cancel it. The local market is close but has a very steep incline to climb, difficult for most tourists. Avoid.

Expensive not a property with value for the money. Having said it, rooms have a fantastic view of kanchenjunga range.

We were in the hotel for two nights. Location of the hotel is nice as Kanchenjunga is directly visible from the lawn and balcony of the hotel but there were several issues. Jetspray of washroom was leaking and broken . Heater of the room made a lot of noise. There was power failure for full first night and second day too . Nobody seemed to care much about the issues as it was consistent . Really poor for such high price . Lastly billing of the restaurant was wrong and extra food items were added in the bill that we did not have . Same happened with another family in front of us means it is a common issue for the hotel that they don’t bother to rectify. With the pricing of the rooms , it’s unacceptable.

suite class to means two rooms, one smaller sitting & bigger room with bed etc. here it's just a room not very spacious with a balcony. Food was Good, big dining but staff was not matching to guests dining in. They did provide Jain food on demand but as staff was always busy it took time, many outsiders also have meals here so it's crowded. Proximity to Toy train station is a plus. it's road touch therby easy access but many tall constructions coming up on valley side spoil a very breathtaking view.
