Isenburger Hof

The room was quite good and the location perfect for me (lots of bakeries and other shops close-by). It was just disappointing that they never had any staff at the reception, so one was left to one’s own devices.

Although I hate to provide non-stellar reviews, I will this time to avert such a negative experience for others. Although the building and the room itself were clean and fine, the place is hard to get to unless by taxi from the main airport. The information lady at the front desk said that one would have to take the train back and forth to central Frankfurt, and that it's unsafe. She said to try the bus but the bus driver didn't know where the hotel was. One taxi refused to drive me to the location. The other two were good. As far as the hotel, I wasn't informed that I was supposed to check my email to check in. When I got there at 9:00 pm, the hotel was closed. A kind Senegalese man who is staying there with his wife called the number for me to find the code to get the key. My temporary Italian SIM card didn't work there. I thought the check in was 24 hours. There was no coffee or tea or anything. I had to drink tap water and everything around looked closed in the morning. I received an email inquiring when I would depart. I won't stay at such an unfriendly hotel. I had to ask another guest, this time from Italy where to catch a taxi to go to the airport. Phew, it was the kindness of strangers who got me through. Also, a lady came in speaking German when I was sleeping. Though she was polite, I had no idea why she had the keys.
