The hotel is great but Agoda is a scam! Luckily, the general manager, Danielle, at the Independence Inn is fabulous and worked with us to receive a refund (which we are still waiting on one week later) as well as a letter to dispute the charges should the refund never be given

Pleasant Stay

I stayed for 4 days and quite enjoyed the facility during that period. The accommodations were very nice, and super clean. Staff were helpful, kind, and personable. I would stay here again the next time I am Houghton if rooms are available.

Impressed all all around

First time staying at independence. I’ve been impressed since the moment I got here. Clean rooms very spacious. Full refrigerator and kitchenette. The beds were super comfortable. Definitely recommend andwill come again.
