Remote. Charming. Unique. Small - four bungalows perched amidst jungle greenery overlooking terraced rice paddies, fringed by coconut palms, banana trees, with frangipani blooming, and large black butterflies flitting past. Just a few minutes walking will take you to a small local village where you can purchase fresh mangoes , or salak, or maybe some packets of instant kopi or a chilled beverage from the cooler at one of the small toko that line the road. The sunsets are lovely as the colors of the evening sky are reflected in the rice paddies. Evening may bring a concert of frogs, crickets and cicada followed by the quiet of darkness with the occasional call of the gecko declaring “Geck-oh!” If you are fortunate to be awake in the early morning hours before sunrise you may hear the morning concert of local muezzines at numerous mosques scattered in the small communities across the lower slopes of Agung Rinjani as they each begin the morning call to prayer starting first in the far distance and gradually growing as more and more voices join and then it all fades away again leaving the stillness and quiet of the jungle morning briefly before the ‘rural rush hour’ of motorbikes racing taking local residents to work. The staff is attentive and courteous. The facilities are basic but adequate. The price is reasonable. And the experience is singular and unique. It may be too simple for some however the location allows easy access to some rare and lovely locations and what this place has to offer cannot be bought or sold.

You have to come here! Could not recommend any more! The owners were incredible, so kind, funny, welcoming and very helpful with anything we needed. The food was a great price and tasty too. At Dinner, there was even live music from the owner! They offer various tours which we took full advantage of and was our favourite part of our whole Indonesia trip! It was a proper insight into the life of the Tetebatu community, and it was amazing to know we could help them in this way. For example, were able to work with the local people to make our own coffee and coconut oil. The location was perfect, with many shops nearby. If you are staying in Tetebatu, I would highly recommend it to be here - you won’t regret it. We even accidentally left our bags in the room on check out and they drove all the way to us to return it! Thank you so much !! “Lombok I love you”
