Hokitika Pioneer Hotel

Room was okay, had to share washrooms, small kitchen with microwave oven, toaster and a kettle and showers. Parking was on the street. Location was great Close to the beach 3 minutes walk. Drive to town 3 minutes too.

Clean room located not far from the town center and main attractions. Street parking is available and the staff were helpful with good recommendations. The room is not soundproof, so you can hear people walking and talking outside. There are 2 shared bathrooms and showers. No kitchen, but a shared microwave is available.

Was a bit strange how in the family room there was a fridge but no handbasin to clean teeth in. The hand basins in the toilets were small and low to clean teeth in and the kitchen sink didn’t seem appropriate. The other room I stayed in had a lovely sink. The room walls are quite thin, I had to ask a neighbour to quiet down at about 10.30pm as I had to get up early for work. Very handy to town and staff very friendly.

Really enjoyed our one night stay at the pioneer hotel. Quaint hotel with welcoming staff and bar. Clean and comfortable - very happy to recommend. Thanks Michelle and team.

Other than the room size being a little too small, we were happy that there's a tap n basin despite choosing the shared bathroom option.
