Shanti Cafe - Signature Stays Kasol

This is going to be a long and detailed review, so please read it before booking. The location and view of this café is unbeatable. It’s right in front of the river. I booked the river-view private room, and I could see the river even while lying on my bed. There’s a window right next to the bed with an exceptional river view and constant river sound. The room also has a private balcony facing the river. The property is about a 30-minute walk from the Kasol market and less than 5 minutes by two-wheeler. Even if you decide to walk, you probably won’t feel the distance because the route to the market has stunning scenery. I personally loved walking there every day. I would recommend this place over the expensive hotels in the main market area because the market side is very crowded and busy. If you’re looking for a slow, calm, and peaceful experience, staying in Chalal and visiting the market whenever you want is a much better option. The staff is very friendly and always available if you need any help. They also have a café on the property, and the food is delicious. Now coming to the negative points: I felt the room could have been a little cleaner, and there was no room service during my 4-day stay. Maybe you need to request it from the staff, I’m not sure. There’s also an electricity issue, but honestly, that seems to be common across Kasol. Make sure to carry a power bank or some backup for charging your devices. A very important point for solo female travellers: the road between this hotel and the Kasol main market feels safe during daylight, but it becomes extremely dark at night because the entire route passes through forest areas. There are a few small shops on the way, but they’re far apart from each other. There are long stretches with absolutely no light, and your mobile flashlight will basically be your only source of visibility. Without a torch, you’re genuinely doomed. I personally did not feel safe walking back alone at night from the market to the hotel. If possible, use your own two-wheeler/four-wheeler or ask someone to drop you back. I would strongly advise solo travellers to avoid walking alone on that route at night. Another inconvenience was that the hotel starts playing trance music around 10 AM, and it continues till around 2–3 AM. The volume isn't loud, but it was enough to suppress the natural river sound. This may bother you if you came here mainly to relax and enjoy the peaceful sound of the river. However, if you enjoy trance music and like that kind of vibe, then it won’t be a problem at all. Another suggestion for the staff: it would be nice if you could provide at least one complimentary bottle of water when a guest arrives. It’s not really an inconvenience because the café is right downstairs, but it would be a thoughtful gesture and make guests feel more welcomed. Overall, it was a great stay with an incredible location and atmosphere, despite a few inconveniences.

Our stay at Shanti Cafe was truly awesome! I visited with my family, including my 3-year-old boy, and we had such a wonderful experience. All the staff members were extremely helpful and welcoming throughout our stay. A special mention to Badushah and Rennis — they went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. The location of the cafe is absolutely serene, in the beautiful valley of the Parvati River, which made the whole experience even more peaceful and relaxing. The food was delicious, and we genuinely enjoyed every meal. The room was spacious, and both the room and bathroom were very clean and well-maintained. We truly enjoyed our stay in Kasol. Highly recommended for families looking for a comfortable and peaceful getaway.
