My wife woke up with many bed bugs bites all over her back. We stayed 1st and last night from this place due to friend boat arrangement there. We forgot and left behind some clothing and informed them immediately. On our last night there we only recover portion of what was left behind. My wife is not very happy about that. They also screw up with our departing boat to Derawan. Was told leaving at 9am but was told the boat left at 8am so had to pay extra to catch another small boat at Tanjung Batu to meet up that boat. Communication is an issue here. Best to spend the nights at Maratua island. Was ok the first night but at the end was very disappointed. Island hopping boat pricing is not standard on the high side. Make sure you confirmed the price before you go on the trip. Food choice in the island very limited. If decide to stay at Derawan the snorkeling at the Jetty of the Derawan beach resort is outstanding, worth the 30k entrance fee
