Just like my title. If you just want to enjoy George town, this is a wonderful hotel you can pick, they even have private parking.

Clean room, wall a bit thin. Free parking but must have good parking skills. Overall very good!

Booked last min and thankfully there was still a family room available. Staff: All the staff we encountered were friendly. We had some problem with the wifi connection and they were quick to help. Managed to connect and used it well for the two days there. Location: Conveniently located within the heart of George Town, lots of bars around within walking distance. Most tourist attractions are within 10-15min car rides away. Cleanliness: Generally clean! Amenities: were given two shower cap boxes but they were both empty. We did not further request for it as we don't need them. There is a rooftop bar and hotel guests get a voucher for discounts. The food and cocktail were all good! Went over expectations. Good for chilling and relaxing with the night lights and slight breeze at night.

Staying for 3 nights. Surrounded with restaurants and convenient stores. Enjoy the walk at night. The bed frame making a lot noise when ever you move. Tv in the room almost cannot be use. Apart from only few channels available , you won't understand anything coz none english, and the wash basin almost no water flow.

I am writing as a VIP Platinum member with Agoda. I booked 2 nights and extended 2 nights from Agoda. Our check-in was LATE. There were so many guests checking in and we finally got the room at 4 PM. They need a 100 RM deposit with an extra 2 RM per night for the tourist/tax fee or whatever. The room is extra small but we love the big window (can't be opened). The room is cool even without AC and the AC itself is so cool! They provide coffee and tea but no drinking bottles. It's already a common thing in Penang that they only provide a kettle for us to fill water by ourselves in a water station beside the lift. There's not much TV channel selection. They provide a hairdryer, SDB, slippers, a mini drying rack and no wardrobe just a few hangers. They provide full toiletries but the only MOST annoying thing for my room 305 is the shower. The hot shower machine is broken although the maintenance team has come to repair it. No hot shower at all sigh! We then got to shower in room 307 (more spacious than 305) and only got to use the shower coz we decided not to move the room because we were having a very busy day outside for a 3 days religious event and did not have time to repack our luggage. There's no breakfast provided and the rooftop bar is only open from 6 pm to 2 am. There's no Jacuzzi as shown in Google Maps (I supposed it's removed since they renovated the rooftop area). We had a pleasant stay here in Chulia Mansion, however, we are very dissatisfied with the shower and late check-in. We are also very happy with the service of the housekeeping team, maintenance team, and receptionist, but there is still much room for improvement for Chulia Mansion.
