Had a wonderful stay at Japamala celebrating my wife’s birthday. The staff were truly exceptional and went above and beyond to make our stay special. While the overall experience was great, we did face some ant issues in the villa, and a few facilities could use some refurbishing. Food was quite overpriced, with no nearby eateries or supermarket access, which was a drawback. That said, despite the monsoon season and minor setbacks, it was still a memorable and enjoyable experience overall.Thank you Robert and mike…truly the staff makes this place awesome

a peaceful and tranquility getaway. it was such a good break from our busy hectic life. the resort embraces nature in it’s setting and accommodation, and you can truly see how much effort they go to maintain it. The moment we alighted at their private jetty, we are in awe of the beautiful seaview and everything surrounding it. be prepared to remove yourself in the busy city life, and embrace nature its best. it is like digital reset we needed. As the resort is secluded on it’s own, meals and food are only available at the resort, so you just gotta be prepared for that. i only have praises for everything at Japamala :)

As a non snorkeler and scuba diver, 4 nights was plenty for me. We did trek to a nearby waterfall which took up part of 1 day - well worth the visit. Paddling in the sea and chilling out on a sun bed was enough to recharge batteries. The food was more than decent - do try the Italian restaurant. There was free flow of snacks around 4pm with tea / coffee then free flow of drinks between 6pm and 7pm at the jetty. What really stands out from our visit was the excellent service throughout. Mike leads the team for food / drinks and nothing was too much trouble. The front office staff were always available and helpful and finally, even the Bangladeshi workers were kind and took time to greet you with a smile. Prices at the restaurants for dinner were reasonable, not so for massage, MR380 for an ordinary one hour oil massage is a little steep, but then again, you are in a remote area with limited access. You are basically on the edge of a jungle, so their are insects of sorts in the cabins but nothing too frightening. The air conditioning sometimes needs to be switched off and then back on again if the on site electric generators stall during the heat of the day, but it didn't seem to happen during the cooler nights. We drove up from Singapore to Mersing, stayed 1 night before catching the early 6.30am ferry to Genting terminal on Tioman. Be warned, Mersing hotels are not very good. The ferry ride over and back was pretty calm and the car parked at the ferry terminal was secure. Make sure you have the ferry tickets printed out as showing the tickets on your phone didn't seem to be acceptable and also, you will need to buy some kind of visitor tax coupons at a counter across from the ferry terminal at RM30 per person. Would I go back? If I snorkeled or dived, yes, absolutely. As a non diver, probably not, but not because of any failure on the part of the hotel. If all you want to do is chill out on a sun bed, this might just be your cup of tea.

This island resort offers a peaceful and scenic environment—perfect for a short escape from the city. The private beach access was convenient. Room was wonderful, clean, and comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay. However, breakfast needs some improvement in terms of taste and the selection food. With improvements to the breakfast quality, this resort could easily be a five-star experience. Unforgettable experience, around 3am our room electric suddenly off. We try to contact PIC resort by call/whatssp but never answer and reply. We sleep in hot for 2hour. On the morning we never hear sorry from them.

I loved the place. The rooms are beautiful and spacious. Lots of thoughtful details. It's also great to have unlimited access to the snorkelling gear and the kayak, which allowed me to visit nearby beaches. The coral reef is just there. Free flow of sundowners at the jetty was fantastic. Staff were quite friendly too! It is, however, quite isolated. Hiking routes are hard or impossible to reach by foot. In Tioman, in general, hiking paths are not well kept or well marked.
