The Arran, St Andrews

Our stay at The Arran was nothing short of delightful. Nestled in a prime location, just a 10-minute walk from The Old Course, it offered a scenic and relaxing stroll to one of the most iconic golf destinations in the world. The neighborhood itself is rich in charm, conveniently close to St. Andrews University, adding a sense of heritage to the surroundings. We opted for the Garden Suite, a lovely street-level room that opened up to a beautiful garden—perfect for morning stretching before hitting the golf course. The spacious bedroom, along with a modern, clean bathroom, made for a comfortable and restful stay. The hospitality at The Arran was noteworthy; the staff were welcoming and helpful, making our experience even more enjoyable. A variety of restaurants, pubs, and coffee spots were just around the corner, making it easy to find great meals and drinks. Additionally, tea, coffee, and soft drinks were kindly provided by the host, a thoughtful touch that enhanced our stay. Beyond its proximity to The Old Course, The Arran is also a convenient 10-minute walk to the shopping district, including a Tesco mini supermarket—perfect for any quick necessities. We’re truly glad we chose The Arran and would definitely stay here again when visiting St. Andrews. However, for those booking rooms on the upper floors, keep in mind that we didn’t spot an elevator, so carrying luggage up the stairs might require extra effort.
