Giriwood Hotel & Villa

We booked 1 bedroom villa. It was of decent size with netflix too provided. Location was bit isolated and hence there was nothing more to do than watch netflix. Food options were ok not much especially considering vegetarian diet. Views from the hotel is very scenic and it was nice change from the beach location to mountain location. Getting a Grab or Gojek is difficult and hence you need to rely on local transport which is costly. Best option is to hire 2 wheeler which hotel can help to provide. We were given complementary tropical fruits which was a pleasant surprise. Swimming pool is nice with heated water. It gets a bit cold in evening so heated swimming pool helps. Wish there was a bath tub or jacuzzi in room which other hotels provide in vicinity.

We booked this place with excitement as the photos looked great. Staff was very friendly and very accommodating, A+. That was the highlight. After check-in, we saw 3 mice in the room. I understand it’s Bali and you’re in nature with a jungle near by so we fully expect and accept bugs, geckos, etc… but not mice. The staff was apologetic and luckily they had another room that they could switch rooms for us. We didn’t have other rotten issues after the switch. Rooms were nice and spacious. No AC which we knew about, the large ceiling fan did a good enough job to keep us comfortable at night. The morning breakfast was quite decent, lots of variety and they have an espresso machine so that was nice. However, the lunch and dinner menu were quite disappointing. Every single time we ordered chicken, it came out cold. It was consistently very disappointing. With the hotel being up in the hills, it’s quite remote and there are little restaurant options in the surrounding areas.

발리 하면 바다를 생각하기 쉬운데..산속에 들어와보니 시원하구 조용하구 좋네요~ 어제 밤에는 추워서 혹시나?하구 챙겨온 패딩 조끼를 꺼내 입었어요~ㅎ
