Marblewood Village Resort

The saving grace of this property are the people working there. One of the staff helped us with our bags at the back of the hotel as parking in the front lot was full. We had to park around back to get close to the lower level rooms. The grounds all around the hotel are not particularly tidy and weeds and trees aren’t cut back, especially in the rear overflow parking or on the side areas of the hotel. On this particular day the temp was 30C+. Hot, humid, and sticky. First impression of the lobby is good and front desk staff are friendly and accommodating. That’s where the good stuff ends. The lower level floor (100+ numbers) led us into a maze of corridors from the front desk that was made easier to find our room by parking in overflow behind the hotel which looked more like an unkept vacant lot. Upon entering through the back door, the lower level hallways were damp and the flooring shows signs of swelling and buckling in places. I suppose this could be because the pool is also on this level. Decor and painting seems haphazard and not well done. Entry to the room (121) was dark, muggy, and hot which did not sit well with either of us. We tried to get the A/C under the window working right away once we found and turned on the very few lights in the room. Then unloaded the car and went to find somewhere to eat, hoping the A/C would cool and dehumidify the room while we were away. That didn’t happen. See below… List of room issues: -A/C would only blow warm air. Filter dirty. No cold air or dehumidification would function. - Room window would not open. No screens on window. Water damage on window and sill. - Floor against the outside wall was damp and greasy. Also grease stains on floor by small fridge. - Lighting is NOT adequate! Only 2 lamps in the main room and one not controlled by a wall switch. Beds (2 queens) each had a tiny reading lamp attached. - Number of Electric outlets NOT adequate for extra equipment or USB placement. - Bathroom floor was NOT clean anywhere especially around the toilet and around the sink cabinet. - Greasy smudges on the sink counter. - Toilet seat worn so much on the front and back that it cannot be cleaned properly. - Painting in the bathroom sub-standard. - No working fan in the bathroom. The entire experience was not enjoyable as we spent a night of trying to sleep in a damp, hot, room. We do not want to go back to that property for a 2nd night that we had already pre-booked. Asked for a cancellation refund (full or partial) which was denied

Our stay was wonderful. The lady at the front desk was very welcoming and friendly.. everything in our stay was clean, had plenty of towels and face cloths. It is a very spacious place.. loved having our own patio and hearing the river through our windows was so relaxing. Can’t wait to stay here again.
