Just to be clear I travel for work and hockey the amount of time I actually stay at the hotel in the room is very minimal. I am not one for elaborate requirements. I see a hotel / motel as a place to sleep and shower. I often look for close proximity to where I need to be and the most cost effective option every time. For the money the Scottish Inn fit my purpose perfectly located close to the university and a 6 min drive to the Main Street in Potsdam. Rooms were clean no bugs anywhere the staff was friendly. An older motel style facility don’t expect a sandals resort but like I said a place to sleep and shower it is a good option for those that aren’t high maintenance.

Surprisingly fabulous!
When we were first looking for a hotel for the weekend, everything was relatively overpriced and we were given issues with booking at the bigger named hotels/motels in the area. The Scottish Inn was both helpful and flexible with booking. My partner and I were pleasently surprised about not only the service but the rooms were clean and private. Everything was in excellent shape! We even got a wakeup call reminder 15 minutes before checking out. I was even impressed by the fact that they immediately cleaned the room as soon as we left. The staff were very polite and courteous. We will most definitely be staying again! 😊
