The place is awesome, located in peaceful area with big terrace where you can hang out after long day travelling. Staff was super kind and professional. Room was extra comfy. Breakfast was very disappointing. Limited options and low quality. Dinner was fine though!

Sang Poy Cottage is beautiful and relaxing. The rooms are thoughtfully and tastefully designed with a minimalist approach. Sadly, the bathrooms of both room types (jacuzzi and superior double room with balcony are not well maintained and cleaned). The view from the jacuzzi room is spectacular all day and also very relaxing if using the jacuzzi in the evening with candlelight. The superior double room is closer to the road and there will be sounds of traffic. I did get a view of banana trees which was nice. There is also ample parking space. The check-in was not great in terms of service and the F&B (both dinner & breakfast) is something I cannot recommend. It was a disappointment dining on New Year’s Eve. The food served did not look like anything in the pictures and the egg was missing from the Tom Yum Fried Rice. We noticed it close to the end of the meal and was served a small and flat piece of fried egg separately. The egg in the picture looked like it was done omurice style, a creamy egg that acts as a blanket for the fried rice. They were apologetic about it though. I do recommend dining at กุงคุณลุง Goong Khoon Loong (just next to Temple at Bamboo Bridge, check out the cool dining area next to the river) and Baan Song Thai Restaurant (best restaurant in the region for food and drinks). Great for misty morning walks at Su Tong Pae and to observe Tak Bat at 7am and for sunsets. There is a small carpark 300m to the bridge and some small shops and an interesting food stall with seating just next to a small stream and benches facing the rice fields and the bamboo bridge.

Lovely view of the paddy fields. Beautiful scenery around the monetary up on the hill via the bridge. Just so relaxing. Staff were helpful. We hope to return.

It is a small hotel on the side of the road, about forty-eight-minute drive from Ban Rak Thai and 11-minute drive from Mae Hong Son. There trees, a garden and rice fields on all sides. I booked a deluxe room but was upgraded to a VIP room (V01), there two such rooms, which is slightly bigger with a big balcony with a Jacuzzi in one side. Both room types are on the first floor. The room is spacious with a long settee under the window, but with no writing desk, no chairs, no cupboard and no storage space like drawers etc. There are two small bed-side tables with no drawers. There is an open rack for hanging clothes but with one cloth hanger, other two hangers are used for the two bathrobes. There is a small bamboo table with the two chairs in the balcony. The bathroom is divided into three parts, shower, WC and wash basin area, which is a good idea. There are toiletries and a good supply of towels. The lobby is open space overlooking the rice fields with reception on one side, sitting area and the restaurant tables. The room has no TV and no phone, there are no tea making facilities. You can request an electric kettle, but it depends on availability. The room overlooks the back garden and the balcony overlooks the rice fields. There is small fridge with a good supply of bottled drinking water. There is also an air purifier. There are four set choices for breakfast, no buffet. The food is good if you have to eat in the hotel. All other rooms have a view of the trees, no view of rice fields or mountains. The First-floor deluxe rooms are a better choice, they are spacious and have better furniture with a table, better chairs in the room and the balcony. There are six rooms from S01-S06, S06 is the corner room near the road, the first three are better. Same applies to the ground floor rooms (P01-P06). But upper floor has better view. The bed is comfortable, the Wi-Fi is good. This a good value hotel for a night or two stay on the way to other places.
