ETALAUSER Jungle Gate EcoResort Bukit Lawang

This is a local family run farm stay style accommodation. I traveled with my aunt selecting the accommodation at random and it was well worth it. The resort is not super fancy, has more of a camp vibe which is quite the experience and gives you a real authentic old school jungle stay. I would recommend if you are traveling with preteen or teenagers with alot of energy. The resort backs on to a clean river which is perfect for swimming and is close to Gunung Leuser National Park (about a 10 min ride) but out of the way of high tourist foot traffic). The food is all fresh home made with breakfast, lunch and dinner on offer with traditional Indonesian food. My aunt unfortunately sprained her ankle trekking through the Jungle on the Orangutan tour and had to keep off her foot for a few days. They host family took amazing care of her making sure she had food and water whist I continued looking around bukit lawang. They will also assist with organising tours, car service, tuk tuk, and act as guides and translators (English) when needed.

The view of the river and being rught next to it us great but the sheets were quite stained and staff took from my wallet/backpack which they send I could leave safely with them whilst hiking. Food options were very limited too.

Bathroom needs to updated and I did not have a bath for the period I had stayed.

Buk Sukma was an amazing host, loving and kind, and very generous. Her son also is very friendly and kind. My friend and I were welcomed not just upon arriving but everytime we came back from going outside and bid us well everytime we left. the energy there was so calming with a river right next to the accomodation. Beautiful structures all around. I loved the food and the room was cozy! I had good sleeps there. Would definitely love to visit again.💞
