Everything about this stay was ok, some things very cool, some things exceptional, but everything came with caveats. You can tell when they built this property, they truly wanted a quality guest experience. It’s starting to get a little worn around the edges. Food outlet, breakfast and dinner, just didn’t cut it, but again, some effort was there. (My dinner one night was awful, wife’s ok.) breakfast suffered from keeping hot food edible for a long periods. To be fair we came out of season, so it was not very busy. Upgrade fees at the resort I really hate, I understand it’s competitive and they want bookings so show lowest room rates but then add for amenities, like parking, breakfast. The evening wine voucher was a nice touch though. Nice bed, but smaller than any Queen I’ve been in, shower was wonderful but the dispenser for the various hair and body wash all had the same label with different color product on the inside. See everything with a caveat, always a “but” however the staff was excellent without exception……

Hotel Abrego is by far one of the best hotels I have stayed at in my 23 years of life. As someone who travels regularly since age 5, I can confidently say this is one of my top memorable stays. The staff was incredible above all else when I called to confirm my reservation & had some bday requests. Clara was so nice and helpful in making sure the price of everything was clear & our stay was comfortable. The bar & restaurant was wonderful. Parking was nice! My only complaint would be the teeny tiny mini fridges & no microwave unless you request one from front desk. Not too big of a deal unless you like leftovers like me! ;’) I look forward to coming again and spending more trips in Monterey thanks to hotel Abrego!

I did enjoy this hotel a lot. I ended up traveling alone instead of staying with another person. Stayed for 2 nights and 3 days - mid March. Thre weather was beautiful: all sunny and warm during the day, a bit chilly at night. I paid around 400 which included free breakfast, free wine in the evening, free calamari appetizer at Grotto nearby, heated pool and jacuzzi, a portable microwave upon request, and friendly staff. Parking was plenty. The hotel was clean and well lit. Location was great: I walked to the Fisherman Wharf for 15 min; drove to Point Lobos State Natural Reserve for 10 min; Bixy Bridge for 25 min; Lyfted to downtown Carmel for 10 min. Checkout was easy and smooth. I will definitely come back.
