We love staying at The Grove for the location and amenities. We usually self-park in the basement garage, which is very affordable and then walk everywhere for dining, shopping, etc. It's our go to spot in downtown Boise.

This is our 3 rd visit to the Grove. It's always been the best choice for us. It has full services and amenities and located right downtown. The rooms are always clean and have great views on the upper floors. The staff has always been most accommodating and takes care of any issues quickly. The price is a good deal considering all the hotel has to offer. I mentioned "issues". There were a few things that made me only give a 4 star rating. Check-in went fine, we got the room we requested. However, we had also requested a microwave yet, it was not there. It was delivered quickly. There was no luggage rack in the room. The mini-fridge was unplugged and warm. It took the housekeeper, Sayed (***) a while to get it working - after he found the area under the fridge filthy. The plug for the hair dryer was cracked and had a hole in it exposing the circuitry - dangerous. The coffee maker was not working, nor was the replacement they brought up. The third one worked fine. (Zarina***) . The shower handle was almost falling off. It was fixed by the time we returned to the room. I would suggest they put in grab bars in the shower. AND...most difficult of all -- no GOLF channel (kidding, but true) I am sure we will stay at the Grove on our next visit to Boise.

If you are able to book terrace room for reasonable price thru Agoda, then it is worth it

We love The Grove. The location is perfectly centered in down town. Close enough to walk to most anything. We’ve stayed at The Grove a dozen times but never when a hockey game was scheduled. Saturday evening my wife and I had just come back from riding scooters along the Greenbelt (was awesome) it was almost dark and we were getting cold. We decided to go up to the room warm up then go out for dinner. As we walked into the lounge the line to elevator was about 70 people long and the stairs had just as many people lined up. We thought no problem we’ll walk up the side of the stairs that were not being used (walking down side) we were greeted by a lovely lady (sarcasm) with a wand, scanning people for the hockey game. We told her that we were guest at the hotel trying to get to our room. She told us that she would have to wand us to go any further up my wife said no problem and agreed then she told us that we’d have to wait in line like everyone else going up to the hockey game my wife again told her that we are guest at the hotel that we were not going to the hockey game. She was very rude and told us that there was no way we could go any further without waiting in line. We then went to the front desk, asked them what we needed to do to get to the room found out there were several other people in the same circumstance that we were trying to get to their rooms; finally, an employee from the front desk to walk us up the stairs past the power hungry wand, lady. It’s crazy that The Grove doesn’t have a dedicated elevator for their guests during this time. The whole ordeal was frustrating enough that we didn’t want to leave our room and have to deal with that again so we stayed in for the rest the night and canceled our dinner plans. We will be sure in the future to not stay at the Grove during a hockey game.

This upscale, hotel is right in the middle of downtown Boise. Walking my distance to bars, restaurants and shops. Also, it is attached to the ice rink, so if you want to catch a minor league hockey game, you have your own entrance to the arena. Parking was extremely limited and the garage was tight, but other than that, it was the perfect hotel.
