It's very charming - awesome views from the lobby area and front room! The shower was not clean (Black mold in the shower) and the shower nozzle was completely broken. I also think they could do a little more with the breakfast. The staff was VERY NICE. Super helpful front desk staff. Laura and Marta - were great. I do recommend this place - 2 nights is a perfect getaway. With some very minor upgrades this could easily be a 4-star property. As it sits now, this is a 3-star which isn't a bad thing - you just have to be aware of it. Overall very pleasant and happy to book this place.

Very welcoming staffs, good breakfast

We like old, grand villas and are willing to make some concessions to our expectations in terms of hotel quality. In our search for new experiences, we have also chosen old villas that are known to be no longer in the best condition and the level of service is not the best. When making our choice, we read numerous negative reviews, but since there were also many positive ones, we hoped for the best (as has happened with several hotels before), but unfortunately that was not the case this time. However, in the case of this hotel, we have to make concessions in our expectations a lot (too much). The complex itself is quite grand and large and has a dignified history, but the quality of the hotel's service is quite weak. At the same time, the price is not particularly expensive and if the budget is small and the demands are not high, then you will get the experience of staying in an Italian villa. Personally, I would prefer better quality and would definitely be willing to pay more for it. The public spaces were spacious and dignified. The terrace offers a spacious view of the valley. The rooms do not match the pictures in the advertisement. The first room (Classic Double) was extremely small and did not have a chair and desk (which I needed and which are in the pictures of each room). Since the desk was important to me, we changed rooms. The second room (supposedly of a higher category) was probably three times larger, but with a very inconvenient layout. Across two floors, the upper one had a bed and a TV and the lower one had a wardrobe, desk and chair and a very small bathtub. There was a lot of space, but there was no place to be comfortable. The bathroom was small and the door to the shower cabin had been removed, you had to be very careful under the shower so as not to flood the entire bathroom. The problem in both rooms was that there was nowhere to put things. There is a wardrobe, but no open shelves or work surfaces to put a handbag, hat, sunglasses, etc. There are no racks in the bathroom to dry wet towels and swimwear. There was free water and a kettle in the room, but no tissue paper in the room. We also looked at some rooms that were being cleaned with the doors open and none of these rooms looked like the pictures on the hotel website. We discovered the most unpleasant surprise only when we went to bed - the air conditioner was noisy (it made a loud noise for about 5 seconds every five minutes) and the remote control did not work and we could not turn it off either. On top of all that, the air conditioner was too weak to cool down this large room. Due to the noisy air conditioner and the heat, we had a very bad night's sleep. Since the primary purpose of the hotel is to provide a place to sleep, a sleepless night is a particularly serious problem. The pool area could be a little better maintained. The pool is a good size and one part is quite deep, but the water is not the cleanest. I was fine for swimming, but my companion disagreed and came out of the pool after 2 minutes and refused to go back in. There are no showers or toilets by the pool. In fact, there are even seemingly quite new showers a little further away, but they don't work. During peak times, there is a shortage of sun loungers. The hotel's WiFi only works around the lobby on the ground floor, there is no coverage elsewhere in the hotel. The worst thing is that the mobile phone coverage is also very poor. So here you can experience an authentic old-fashioned villa life - a detox from the internet, time for yourself and your companions. Parking spaces are in the garden on the hillside, but you have to take into account that it is very far and extremely inconvenient to bring your suitcases to the hotel from there and there is no staff to help you bring your suitcases to the room. So, at first, you should drive to the hotel door and lift your suitcases. The restaurant is OK, but based on the advertisements, we expected more and didn't get a gourm
