The staff at the Mermaid Eco Resort is extraordinarily friendly and accommodating. They are relaxed yet prompt in providing their services. There's government construction underway at their resort, so it's not as pretty as it used to be on my previous visits. But you can hardly blame them for it. The cats that live on the site are the best part of the community. They are adored by both tourists and staff, and they add to the resort's idyllic atmosphere. They don't have an on-site swimming pool, but you can use the pool in the nearby Mermaid Beach Resort. It's a long infinity swimming pool. The only thing I found annoying was some of the other guests—I guess some guests don't really know how to keep quiet.
