Friendly staff, keen to please. Comfortable room. Our spotlessly clean private bathroom was three steps across the corridor. However, with only two other bedrooms this was not an issue for us and it meant we had a bath/shower rather than only a shower. Substantial breakfast with plenty of choice including cereals, fruit, yogurt, toast and delicious cooked breakfast. The evening meals had plenty of choice and were well prepared. Portions were substantial and while the quantity was too great for us many diners would be well satisfied. The owners made a point of visiting guests in the restaurant which was appreciated and not overbearing. The experience was excellent value for money and we would book again if in the area.

The Tanky, is our favourite place to stay when visiting Northumberland. We always book the Suite which is like a home from home. Breakfast was included and lacked nothing. Be warned, portions are large and very edible.

Stayed overnight at this lovely gem of a place for my birthday. Friendly and welcoming staff , beautiful room , spotlessly clean . Delicious dinner and a relaxed atmosphere in the restaurant and breakfast was amazing. The service and attention to detail was excellent and we will definitely return.

The staff here were probably the most welcoming and warm than any other stay I have had anywhere.This is a lovely pub with a beautiful dining room and nice bar.Only stayed for one night but the evening meal and breakfast were both delicious with large portions.We intend to return to Northumbria very soon as there is so much to see and will be booking into The Tankerville Arms without a doubt.

This was our umpteenth stay here over the years. George, Mary and their wonderful team make this place what it is. Be warned, the breakfasts are large and delicious.
