Convenient overnight stop off when travelling north/south or south/north. Comfortable, friendly and good food.

We stayed here for one night and the staff are so lovely from checking in, to the waiters and the young waitress was particularly lovely. We had the four poster room and knew there was a bath and no shower so that wasn’t an issue. The views at the back of the hotel are amazing and plenty of parking too. We had an evening meal and the sea bass and steak and ale casserole were fabulous- as was the crème brûlée! We met lots of great people enjoying their stay too. Breakfast was excellent , a nice buffet selection of yoghurt, fruit, cereals and juice ..we were promptly offered tea and coffee and toast , and also condiments and sauces. The cooked breakfast was fab , really enjoyed the black pudding but it was all cooked and presented really well. Would definitely return , massive thanks for making us feel welcome and a shout out for the lovely young waitress ( we didn’t catch her name) - she is a real credit to the Pheasant !

Stayed here recently in a twin room (no 4). Room very clean, comfortable bed, good bathroom. Bar serves excellent real ales, and a varied range of gins both are not expensive. Meals are first class, varied, and cooked perfectly. Staff are wonderful, attentive and polite. The whole set-up here is first class, we will certainly return in the future.

Lovely people and great food. Super breakfast choices. The building has character.

Booked The Pheasant on spur of the moment but what a find. Would highly recommend from the lovely room and facilities to the very helpful staff and wonderful food. Will definitely be back
