When I booked my stay at Homewood Suites in Roseville, CA, my receipt noted that all fees were included in my purchase. Upon my arrival, I was told that I had to pay $12 per night to use their parking lot! To add insult to injury, the parking lot is not even patrolled by any security personnel. It is obvious that they do this to hide the true cost of staying here. When I pointed out the my receipt said all fees were included, their 2-word reply was, "oh well'. They were very indifferent. My hotel room was clean and nicely equipped, except for one minor detail. Nowhere in the room was a pen, a piece of paper, or even the address and name of the hotel. I had a family member who was going to pick me up, but I could not give her the address. I end up googling it. The Internet in my room was not working properly. The maintenance person was very helpful in getting that problem resolved. The free breakfast was okay, nothing more. One frustrating thing is that, in my week-long stay, not once did they offer a non-pork protein. This is the first hotel that has not offered such an option. After I commented to the breakfast staff, several people came up to me and thanked me for bringing this up. Obviously, Hilton does not consider the dietary restrictions of Muslims, Jews, Adventists, and many other groups who do not eat pork. For me, it is a health issue, for I am terribly allergic to all pork-related products and would have had to have been taken to ER if consumed. Other than one day-shift desk person and the maintenance person, it seemed like no one cared about anything, being very cool and indifferent to the guests. Those two exceptions were wonderful in my interactions with them!

I wanted a room for my husband's birthday so we didn't have to be home with responsibilities and this place was perfect for our little getaway. The size could have been better, the photos are very deceiving online. The room was fairly clean, the sink had some gunk in it and so did the toilet, but nothing horrible. Overall we enjoyed our stay and we would stay here again.
