“They have done a good job restoring and keeping the classic 19th century appearance and vibe which does make this hotel unique. It's in a convenient location off of the highway and within walking distance to Roanoke historic town. The hotel was very clean overall. My room was recently renovated which showed. Staff were generally helpful. I stayed for a conference held within their conference center. The conference facilities were great including buffet. Overall, this is a wonderful historic hotel, and I have no complaints. My only wish is that they had more take-out food offerings. There are several sit-down dining halls, but only one cafe that offers take-out sandwiches. There are no convenience stores or groceries in the immediate walking distance.”

“We enjoyed our stay very much! The bartender was kind to offer a glass of wine at the bar after last call for the night as we arrived later than planned. The room was comfortable and the location couldn't be better- just a few steps from the Roanoke Amtrak station.”

“The property is very convenient to the interstate and has a nice location. Staff treated us very well and went out of their way to help. Property is in excellent shape and well kept. There were good choices for both a hot and cold breakfast. Our Queen bedroom met all our expectations. The only reason I didn't give the facilities a 5-Star rating was due to the small size of the bathroom. However the bathroom fixtures were all newer and the shower had great water pressure. We would definitely stay again. ”
