“Last minute reservation for a solo traveler visiting Gettysburg. This hotel is right at the heart of the town. I was easily able to walk to dinner (twice) at good, inexpensive restaurants. The hotel is a blocky 5 story building that is easy to find. My room was clean and absolutely sufficient for my needs. Breakfast was better than average which saves me $15 or so and when coupled with the low room makes the 1863 a great bargain. ”

“The room was a bit run down, and the beds in the queen room are actually full, hard to fit two people in one. The staff was extremely friendly and welcoming though. And it's right next to a whole bunch of attractions, not far from the center of town. Overall very nice, don't regret staying there.”

“I booked the Illinois room, when I went to breakfast in the morning I was told I booked the Virginia room and Illinois room is quit an more expensive upgrade. They handed me a print out. I showed them my reservation that stated Illinois room with breakfast! Then asked me who I booked through, I said Agoda, was told that's why you always book direct! They acted like I had did something underhanded! All I did was go online and book a B&B. This was not my fault, and they questioned and embarrassed me right in front of the other guests like I had done something so wrong! And this was all on my 70th birthday which I had chose to celebrate there. Well never again! ”
