“This hotel is very well located w.r.t. to the Austin convention center and Austin Downtown. It has a good gym and the river path nearby. So, a good option for the health conscious. HVZ is an option for conference participants who do not want to fork out the utterly outrageous prices of the Fairmont or other conference hotels. The room was nicely refurbished and the staff friendly. The rate is okay compared to the surrounding hotels but still a lot of money, especially when adding in all the local and extra fees. I am going to avoid Austin in future, but if you have to go there, this is an okay option for a business traveler.”

“We had the unfortunate and uncomfortable interaction with an arrogant , pompous , narcissistic , haughty receptionist named Amykah on our business trip to Austin . Interacting with her got more and more akward every time and her tone was also dismissive , felt as if we were being looked down at , maybe because we booked for just one night or maybe because we are Mexican and judged our English skills which made the interaction feel condescending. Instead of being welcoming, she came across as if she was doing me a favor, projecting a superiority complex that left me feeling disrespected and unwelcome. Never staying in this hotel again , or at least not until we believe miss Amyhak is no longer an employee of this very nice hotel . Everyone else was nice and descent Also we strongly believe valet damaged the screen on our car , will be looking/needing for a complaint/claim link ”

“Great Location and rooms were good but pool os too small. Breakfast is okay but not great. Water Machine did not work on the 3rd floor the entire time we were there. ”

“Overpriced at about $200/night and nothing that impressive, not even bottled water in the fridge. They did have a microwave and a fridge which was nice but for a place like this it's kinda expected. The AC in the room never got to a comfortable temperature throughout the night. It was always just humid in the room. Thankfully I wasn't in the room much. The staff was pleasant and friendly but at those prices it's not a place I'd stay again. Also, the hallways are dark and confusing and the elevators take a lot longer than necessary. I think only 2 out 4 worked at any given time. Lots of waiting. If you can get a lower floor you may want to opt for that. ”

“My biggest complaints are that the bed was hard, and when I called the front desk to ask, they said they couldn’t give me another room, because they were completely booked. I thought I would get a nice comfortable bed at a Hilton hotel, but it was hard and uncomfortable and seemed cheap. I won’t be staying at another Hilton hotel if it’s going to be anything like that. They also wanted an extra $48 a night for parking at the hotel. That’s crazy. I just spent well over $100 a night for a room, and you want another $48 a night for parking? Heck no. ”
