“We stopped for a night at Pekoe during a gruelling “visit all the relatives” annual trip around Kottayam-Idukki. Joby runs a fantastic establishment - clean, spacious, well-equipped rooms in the middle of a beautifully maintained tea plantation, with views of majestic mist-capped hills, where you wake up to the sights and sounds of birds of every nature! Joby himself - an excellent host! He took care of every detail, making us feel truly at home. We left the place feeling like friends-of-old. The only snag was the fact that there wasn’t a full kitchen onsite; understandable as we were to be the only guests for the next month or so, while Joby attends to some personal matters. Despite this, he helped us pre-order our dinner, so this worked out pretty alright. I hope to come back some day when there is a chef on site and we can enjoy homestyle meals as well.
