“No housekeeping to clean up the room ”

“What a little gem of a place! The room was fantastic, very spacious & clean. Set in a very quiet location with lots of great walks. The food was excellent, the portions were very generous & tasty. Staff were extremely friendly & were very helpful. 5* country pub, highly recommend ”

“Ground floor room next to the car park created some noise issues at 2 am in the morning. If these were members of staff leaving after their shift then the hotel should perhaps have a few words with them. It seemed unlikely that they were guests leaving at this time and the restaurant was well closed. Our experience of the next door restaurant was also a little disappointing given the price which did not quite match the quality of food and the service issues with staff failing to deliver any requested condiments to our table after 2 requests. When we tried to order dessert we were told the kitchen was closed. Good value though in a lovely location next to the riverside. ”

“First of all, the breakfast is very good and was included in our stay. Staff allowed us to check-in early. Not too far from train station. Bed is comfortable and the decor/atmosphere is charming. However, the floor in the room was dirty and we saw some insects including a roach (room is next to garden). Sheets and glasses were a bit dusty. The closet for the ironing board is a bit moldy smelling and the steam iron kept leaking. Would stay again but just needs some improvement.”

“Booked it in last minute coz original booked room at Novotel is terribly maintenance. Glad have make the decision to change to this hotel. Hotel is just at at train station. It is so convenient. Will definitely book this hotel on next trip to reading. ”
