“Comfortable room, very friendly staff, nice evening meal and great breakfast”

“Lovley village pub , comfortable room, staff very professional and helpful with good sence of humour . Thought the food was a little expensive for what you got £17,50 for lasagna but I guess it's gone up every where, would stay again if I was up that way.”

“We stayed for 2 nights in room 6 - a comfy bed and a great view from the window. We ate at the Hotel both nights for evening meal and the food was excellent I noticed lots of empty plates as people all finished their meals. Breakfast was continental but a good range of things on offer but to be fair I do prefer full English but it didn’t put us off. All in all a good place to stay and we would certainly return. “Beautiful Inn,over 300 years old, so it’s full of charm and quirkiness, stayed for 2 nights whilst wife was receiving Rehab Physio at nearby centre The Inns staff are very attentive and extremely helpful. They serve fabulous food the meals we had were good size and amazing in presentation and lovely choices and what we ordered each time was very flavoursome really good value for money and hot when arrived which was quick. Rooms are immaculate and presented so as to be very inviting and everything provided to make stay comfortable and relaxing , which is wonderful after a journey HIGHLY recommend a stay , we will definately return.”

“Once grand art-deco hotel, it could be great now, but somehow managed to be deeply depressing. Most public areas had a lot of character and lovely physical features, but the ethos and attitudes are seriously in need of updating. Some were unpleasantly neglected. It felt like going back to a crumbling hotel in 1970. While staff were polite and helpful, the style of service and food offering was vers stuffy, unimaginative 1970, even though the prices were inflated to today’s peak rate. Dinner was truly poor- a very limited menu, and despite that 2 dishes were unavailable (the two most appealing) as early as 6pm. Vegetables had been prepared and reheated and were tough and rubbery, gammon was inedibly salty,, and the greasy fish and chips (small portion) came with no veg at all. Very poor £19.50 worth. Filthy windows and planters outside them made it feel very u pleasant to sit and eat at a window table in the smaller dining room. The large room was better. Bathhouse rooms felt in need of serious upgrade, and have damp mould in places . Shame- it could so easily be lovely with a different management attitude”
