“Nice location on University of Essex grounds. Room was in the modern garden wing, there are older style rooms in the main house. Room was on the smaller size but smart and modern with nice toiletries and super thick fluffy towels. Tv was decent size. Breakfast was in the Brasserie and was decent, good fast service. Some buffet items and some items made to order. Quality was good, but the buffet could do with having a few more items available but it was reasonable. Staff were all friendly. ”

“A really great hotel with excellent facilities and staff. No real complaints apart from difficult stairs with dodgy knees, however the friendly staff were on hand to take luggage up to the room. Will definitely return if we are in the area.”

“A hotel with vintage design, the triple room was spacious and come with coffee machine. Comfy and relaxing. The downside is the cleanliness can be improved especially the carpet.”

“Clean room, comfortable bed, hotel is nice and quiet. Would be better if staff checked in and then added how many days to the parking machine. I missed a day and the staff said they couldn't help so I could get a fine now. Self check in was temperamental on last stay. Food is good, spread for toast and hash browns / mushrooms would be nice for the cooked breakfast so vegans/ vegetarians or dairy allergies could have more hot food but the continental was nice. Would stay again but some tweeks would make the stay better. ”
