“I had a great stay here. The room and facilities are beautiful. Housekeeping is spotless, room service food is delicious and fast, staff are amazing. Russell booked taxis for me and paid for it trusting me on my return....beyond his job. The room service man even came to check on his day off because he speaks good English and knows I was struggling with my language ability in China. I really appreciated the efforts of the staff to help me. They went above and beyond and deserve 5 stars. At reception I asked directions to a pharmacy because I was a little unwell and then he organised a humidifier for my room. He is so kind and I felt looked after. I would stay again and recommend everyone to stay here also...it's worth it!”

“The most untrained front desk you can find in this world: did not mention the password of wifi, cannot recognise the country name on passport, cannot find the Chinese Customs date stamp on passport, don’t know the free visa arrangement of countries. Request the passports to be kept for a longer time than usual and returned to the room using a robot. Wrong spelling of “Americ” on the large photo of Day Inns history at the lobby. I wondered “By Wyndham” also a spelling mistake too. Wifi linked in the room is unusable in breakfast place. Its good that hotel offer complimentary washing machine but the Haier washing machines is so user-unfriendly that I expect it will be broken soon although this is a new hotel. The drying function doesn’t dry even after two drying sections total of one hour. (In two other hotels in other cities of Xinjiang, both took two ten minutes sections at 58 degrees) There are two set of lifts. One for the Wingate Hotel, the other for another hotel and some KTV or massage type of businesses in the same building. The lifts in front of the Wingate Hotel lobby can only access using the card. Strangely, the lifts used for the other hotel and businesses can access to all levels of the Wingate Hotel without the hotel room card. When using the lifts and patrons from the bar or KTV full of alcohol and cigarette smell came in, and the lift operate in the way that if the user going into a lift without noticing the direction of up or down, it will bring those going the wrong direction all the way down to the businesses at the lower floors or all the way up to the Wingate Hotel rooms. It happens when pressed the wrong direction button and without noticing which direction the lift going when it opens. The HCG tap in the room has sharp edges. It is going to cause a lot of head and eye injuries in the rooms when brushing the teeth. A classical “form over function” mentality. The HCG knot in the bath dropped off by one touch. Probably the former user doesn’t know what to do with it and broke it. And, this is a very new hotel. Another “form over function”. The aircon in the room stopped working for unknown reason and the technician just lower the temperature and it restarted. I did that before but just it worked one second each time I did it. For breakfast, there is a coffee maker, but not coffee cup, only Japanese style deep cup without handles for tea. The 100 degrees steamed coffee will definitely burn your fingers if you don’t use a large dish to bring it to your table. Extremely limited quantities of knife, fork and spoon. On the first day of my stay, the lady next table eat and drink nothing but a mountain of prawns with hands and plastic groves—at least she found something she likes or for good TikTok videos. No toast, no butter and jam. Plenty ready make sunny side up, to be precise, it is “pouch egg”. Soy sauce and white pepper are provided. Pro:Hotel allows check-out at 2 pm without request. Very nice.Breakfast provided very good fruits during the breakfast, especially the rock melon. The bed was tidy up everyday. Not a practice of hotels in Xinjjang. The hotel room is big enough to have a two sitting sofa.Four bottles of drinks were provided without request.”

“Booked twin rooms with breakfast included and upon arrival, the hotel claimed that we booked queen size without breakfast and made us top up for upgrade to king size bed. Agoda needs to check on how booking is congruent to what the hotel has on system. Terrible service staff and took a while to check in. Light was also really dim in the room and toilet was tiny. There are probably better options around.”
