Lion House Bed & Breakfast with Restaurant

My wife and I stayed overnight here as we were attending an evening event at Arlington Court, a 15 min drive away. On arrival we were given a warm welcome by Andrew, the owner. He showed us around the hotel. All was tastefully decorated, with the addition of wonderful Xmas decorations, especially the large illuminated reindeer! Our room (Deluxe King Double) was spotlessly clean and comfortable. As it was a Sunday afternoon and we hadn't eaten, Andrew directed us to the Pack'o'Cards Pub Restaurant, where we enjoyed a hearty Sunday dinner from the carvery. After a great evening at Arlington Court ( Robert Lloyd Parry Reading the ghost stories of M.R. James!) we returned to the Lion House. The TV in our room had Prime Video so we were able to watch "The Green Knight", a film I had been desperate to see except it was exclusive to Prime. The morning saw us in the dining room. A large table full of every choice of breakfast you could possibly wish for. We chose Full English from the extensive cooked breakfast menu. Well cooked and lots of it! Andrew was a perfect host (and cook!) ever friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend this great value b&b, which displays the comfort and service often lacking in more expensive places we have stayed.
