Suankaew Art Cottage

The common hotel area is interestingly decorated and enjoyable for art lovers - especially the eclectic style. But the description of the 'family bungalow' we've booked is very misleading. We would have stayed elsewhere or at least booked a different room type. First, we went for this room type because it's supposed to be '150-m2', so we expected a spacious space. I guess that measurement counts also the ground floor that's essentially an empty floor with some benches (which are out of use due to the summer heat) - that was out of functional space once we parked our 2 cars. What left to us was the upper (and only) floor - which contains 2 connecting bedroom and a small toilet + shower (without proper wet-dry zone separation). The total space we had in the end - for 4 adults - was around 35-40 m2 max. The wooden floor and doors were shaky and squeaky with any minor movement. The heat when we first entered the room (when the AC wasn't on yet) was totally unbearable. The roof/tile wasn't properly insulated hence giving an oven-like environment. We saw some pools in the 'facility' photos. Though we were informed that it's not for common use. It belongs to other (larger) private bungalow. The house was fairly clean, except for the bathroom. It could be a nice place to stop for a meal - but not for us to stay over at this price (approx. 2800 THB/night)
