칼라 라이야

The place was great, quiet, clean and the villa we were in had a fully functional aircon all throughout. Since the place was fully booked we were not facing the beach, we do however have the pool in front. We could not really see the sunrise or sunset but it did not lessen the place's serene beauty. We can eat facing the calm sea and just enjoy the soft breeze while we dine. The villa we were in was simple and minimalistic. I did not mind the lack of decor, but it would have helped if there was at least a kitchen where we can wash the utensils. The things we used were all cramped on top of the cabinet so it looked cramped and untidy. It is good as well that they have two restaurants as the place was quite remote. Breakfast menu was superb But the menu from the supposed Italian resto was blah. The french fries was dull and bland, the two pizzas served: margherite and cinque formaggio have burnt crust, bland old dough, unseasoned toppings that you cant tell the difference between the two pizza. The buffalo wings were spicy but the meat itself was unseasoned (bland I guess was what the chef wanted as theme). The only good thing we ordered was the cauliflower fritti. Bu itself, you guessed it bland, but with the dip delish. The male servers were efficient and attentive lile Joeven but the female servers esp the short plump one because she never gave us plates to eat from, we had to ask three times. She also did not give us ice after asking twice, she ignored us calling her and she had her back turned to us the entire time when she was at the counter. Overall, i like the place. With the price it was as expected. I got the thing i wanted to do the most on my birthday. They can still improve the La Mensa, the Buglas is ok (the bicol express need more spice and meat so lessen the sitaw.)
