Vintage Industrial City Apartments

The apartment (Loft) was nice overall. The bathroom is huge, but the shower works minimally. There is a lot of attention to detail, and really thoughtful touches like toys for kids, and games and such. The main issue is that there was a truly unbearable smell in the apartment. We've stayed in more than 30 places in European travels and a bit of a sewage smell just happens sometimes (historic places, old plumbing) but this was beyond. We ended up not being able to eat in the apartment due to the nausea and also ended up staying out til late despite bad weather to avoid the smell, which actually worsened while we were there. The truly disappointing part is that the host was completely dishonest with us. She sent a maintenance person then told us he hadn't smelled a thing so there was no smell because he would have noticed. It would not be humanly possible to miss the smell. It wasn't a little scent- the air was thick with it and my husband, who lost part of his sense of smell from covid, could barely stand to be in the room. Every time I thought "Maybe it's not that bad", I'd go outside for a breath, and when I opened the door it was eye-watering. I imagine the smell was a temporary issue due to rain/plumbing/leak, but I wouldn't stay here because if you do have an issue, the host may be as dishonest and unbothered with you as she was with us. We were very happy to be in Kosice and would very much like to have given a glowing review. (I chose this place from dozens of options, well in advance of our trip.)
