“Pros: staff was all extremely kind and polite. You can tell they are trying their best to run a cheap(ish) hotel with limited resources. Continental breakfast had a decent assortment, though not refilled throughout the morning, so get there early. The room also had a few small couches, which gave my children some other sleeping options besides sharing beds, which they liked. Cons: hotel is dated and in disrepair. Trim/paint/fixtures everywhere are in need of repair. Bathroom faucet/fixture in our room was loose. Main floor lobby bathrooms were all out of order. Hot tub was colder than pool. Side entrance near our room did not open with key scanner. Volume on TV did not change louder or softer. Traffic noise was loud. Perhaps most troubling was the shuttle situation. As we waited outside the airport for what we assumed was a regular shuttle service (part of the reason for booking this hotel), I finally called to see how much longer we'd be waiting. Apparently the shuttle leaves the hotel for the airport on the hour, BUT, only if there are guests who have scheduled a ride to leave the hotel at that time. We would have had to wait nearly two more hours before being picked up. So we paid for a Lyft. THEN, we did make an appt for a shuttle at 5am on the day of our departure, since that's the only way to be sure of getting a ride. Fine. 5am comes, we're waiting in the lobby. The desk worker tells us to keep waiting. Makes a call. Several minutes of back and forth. 5-10 minutes later another employee arrives, clearly awoken by that phone call. He has another exchange with the desk worker. It was in a language I didn't know, but from what I could gather, the new guy was probably saying something like, "well, nobody told me there was a 5am shuttle to drive". The ride was mostly fine. Until we got close to the airport. One could easily see the long line of brake lights on the highway where airport traffic was nearly stopped. But the driver appeared not to notice, as they continued to accelerate towards the jam, almost as if asleep at the wheel. Finally, as we got uncomfortably close, I instinctively braced myself on the dash and uttered some exclamation. Driver finally slammed the brakes and everyone was certainly wide awake for the last mile of the ride. In summary, yes, you get what you pay for, and there are certainly more expensive hotels in Denver that may have more to offer. But, this was also not the cheapest option, and I guess I expected a little more from it. Probably wouldn't stay again. ”
