“There will be more opulent, more up market places than The Devonian but you will have to pay for it. At the price point I'm not sure you could beat The Devonian. The professionalism and politeness of the staff is exemplary and the way the dining room is run is a credit to all involved as is the cleanliness of the establishment. I spent three nights here as a solo traveller and couldn't have felt more at home. My room had everything I could have wished for and the location is nigh on perfect. The only thing I would say is that if you have restricted mobility then The Devonian may not be the best place for you as it is an authentic Victorian building with fairly narrow staircases and no lift. It didn't bother me one bit as a reasonably active 56 year old but it's something worth considering if you have any mobility issues.”

“Staff is what makes a hotel, and the Queen would not be disappointed in Her stay at the Claremont Douglas IOM. I had a early ferry crossing and wanted to be relieved of my bags so I could get to the mountain. So I asked if I could be booked in early ,absolutely sir was the reply.,Nothing was to much trouble for the staff. Breakfast was delicious and plenty of choice. Hotel and room was absolutely spotlessly clean. Well done Claremont hotel for recruiting amazing staff. ”
